If any book ever deserved to be burned, its this one. I only tolerate fanservice to a certain degree, and this surpasses it. With female characters blatantly sexualized and a female tripping over her boobs every page, this is plotless garbage. The worst part of this is when the misogynist of a main character peeks in on a grade schooler while shes changing. Or maybe that the main girl feels like she can only be pretty or smart, but not both at once. If you want something with a similar storyline [...]
I remember reading this when I first started getting interest in manga (and anime). Though it happens to be some time ago, I still do remember how entertained I was when reading about Keitaro's miserable life. You never really feel bored when reading it because it contains a big amount of humor and there is constantly happening something. Though I might admit that I would feel kinda irritated reading about Keitaro being smacked by the other girls continually.I'm not really that into harem, but L [...]
mediocre at best i remember loving the tv show but this is anything like it! my sister is making me read manga this month! yay! she claims to have read over 600 of them! so i'm hopping things will get better soon!
Love Hina is a series where Akamatsu came into his own. He improved in art, writing and characterisation to an admirable degree and in my opinion, the animated version utterly failed to capture the charm and humor of the cast.Less distasteful than his previous 'A.I. Love You' and perhaps lacking the formidable cast numbers of 'Negima' Love Hina is a 'harem comedy' that manages to dance the right side of funny and teasing. Our 'hero' Keitaro is retaking college entrance exams (once more) in an at [...]
Okay, I wrote a really long rant review on this book, but I deleted it. Suffice to say: WORST. MANGA. I'VE. EVER. READ.EVER .
Mind-numbing harem heterosexual male wish fulfillment filled with mostly unlikable or dull characters and very little to no substance. I did kinda like Mitsune, but even then - the writing does her little favors.Ken Akamatsu's work is basically what you've come to expect from any harem manga (and anime - as the two are tone-wise the same) that relies on a Tsundere lady lead and a boring spineless "nice-guy" protagonist. Lots of female-on-male abuse meant to be 'funny' because "hahaha women can't [...]
I read this series many years ago when I was in high school. I borrowed it from my local library and wasn't sure what I was in for at the time and the art style was pretty, now I am just sad I will never get the hours I wasted on this series back. This series is about a young man who after failing the Tokyo University entrance exam for the second time is kicked out of his parents house, however his grandmother takes him in and allows him to live as the caretaker for Hinata House, however unbekno [...]
This is one of my favorite mangas. It's been years since I read this so it was nice that I still enjoyed it as much this time round.Keitaro keeps failing his entrance exam for Tokyo University and instead of going home as a failure. He decides to stay in his grandma's hotel and study. But Grandma is on an around the world trip and the hotel is now an all girls dorm!He manages to upset every single girl in a series of accidents which make him look like a massive pervert. All the girls are beautif [...]
i must say, i'm glad i got 7 books for 10 bucks. i would feel ripped-off if i had paid more for it. this style of plot never appeals to me. they are situations that spiral out of control, and then keitaro gets to take all of the blame. then the girls have the nerve to boss around their own landlord. i say kick them all out! mwahaha! i'll try another book or two, but i'm not holding my breath for it to get better
Too much fan service for my tastes and the plot is only so so.
Ehat's all I can really say about it. There is hardly any plot. It's all slap stick and sexually awkward situations.
I can't even describe how disturbing this is.
As [...]
LOVE HINA caught my eye because of the women on the cover (female friendships for the win!) and a vague niggling that it was an influential series. During my read, I thought the premise was interesting: we have the manga female harem trope paired with a manic pixie boy who blatantly doesn't have his life together. It's a mix full of conflict, and the author uses it well with lots of hijinks and crazy antics thrown in. Also: SO. MUCH. NAKEDNESS. And walking in on nakedness. Likeez. It seems like [...]
I was rather alarmed by the amount of totally unrealistic sexual happenings in this book. I felt like every other page a young girl was at least half naked. Aside from that, it was sort of funny, though not all that original. By the end of the book though, I was curious as to what would happen next.
I only read this because of a complaint about the series at my library. It is definitely not for me! This is my first experience reading manga and if it's indicative of what the format offers I definitely won't be reading any more!
Darn silly. I can see why teens would like the unlikely plots and the charcaters' attitudes, but manga is definitely not for me. There's a bit moreandalousots than I expected!
Awsome, nice, very romantic.
J'ai adoré !! C'est clair que je n'en lirai pas tous les jours, mais c'est vraiment agréable de lire quelque chose de lèger dans un format inhabituel (enfin pour moi !).
A lame failure at life dude who has the superpower of having all girls instantly in love with him. What MRAs think their life is supposed to be like.
It was a piece of epic herum crap.
I remember reading this manga about 10 years ago, when I first started getting into mangas. This one was one of the fews available in a language I actually understood. (Didn't speak english back then, lol.) I decided to read it again because I dropped this series because of a unfinished translations so I never knew how this story ended. Because I was around Motoko age at that time and didn't have a clue what the hell is fanservice, I felt awkward because of many really awkward panty scenes. But [...]
Trying to get more into manga and I'm usually not into romance but this was just really fun to read. My cousin recommended it to me, since he's much more knowledgeable of manga than I am, and I ended up loving it and reading the entirety of the series (but I'm not going to add them since there's a bunch and I don't want to pretend like I read more than I did for my 2017 goal).Fun characters, fun story, highly recommend!
Series Review: I read it via mangascans, which wasn't very good. The grammar was bad and there were random untranslated or blank speech bubbles; at a certain point they even left an editor's note to alert the readers that the quality was going to drop even farther due to lack of time to do it properly. I heard a lot of good things about this before I read it. It's a good series, but I had some problems with it.*******Possible light spoilers but nothing to ruin the story******* -I didn't like Nar [...]
I really enjoyed this manga. Keitaro is really funny and so clumsy landing him in all sorts of awkward situations. You've kinda got to admire his dedication to get into Tokyo U though despite being so bad at the tests.
This is a funny series but geared towards guys. Harem setting, with tons of implied nudity and ridiculous situations.
Interesting start of the series. I'm going to keep on reading for a bit to see where it goes.
