Young Annie Yoder was full of excitement when she read an ad for an Amish pen pal. The author of the ad wanted to exchange letters with an Amish girl between the ages of 12-16. That fit Annie perfectly, she was 14! Annie’s father, Jacob, wasn’t sure it was such a good idea for her to be writing letters to an Englischer but, her mother persuaded him to let her give it a try. 5 Stars again! Looking for just the right stationary and licking the stampPen pals are such fun. I had several pen pals when I was a teenager. We did not have email so snail mail with old fashioned letters was our only form of communication. We sent pictures and gifts to each other along with long letters of the details of our lives, even writing poems and songs for each other at times. Each book has been a good source for Christian character development in young girls and teens. Scripture is used throughout the stories to reinforce godly decisions and principles. What a wonderful story. I like all the characters in this book. Annie has a pen pal. She was liking what herPen pal gave her, music to play. She was liking it. Then she realize that she should send it back. Temptation can behard for Amish. The character Jonathan is a hoot to read lol.
I liked this book, but I was confused on the name of the female characters.
